It's unbelievable to think that the Games we have all been waiting for have been and gone, but they have certainly left their mark. Gold Challenge gives everyone in the UK the opportunity to take on Olympic and Paralympic sports to raise money for a charity of their choice.
Sign up today! Over 250 schools are taking part already!
There are three great challenges to choose from depending on whether you want to learn new sports, do something together as a school or family or push yourself:
2012km Challenge (the perfect compliment to the school's P.E curriculum)
Family Activity Challenge (a great way for the whole family to get active and try something new)
Olympic Sport Challenge (a great challenge for those wishing to try lots of new sports)

Who can take part in the Youth & Family Gold Challenge?
Everyone aged 4-15 (inclusive).
You can register as a team or an individual.
If you are aged 16 or over you can register with your under 16 peers as a school/youth/family team. If you are taking part in the challenge with others aged 16 and over only then you will need to register on our main site.
Do I need to fundraise for a charity?
Yes. The Gold Challenge is a charity challenge so please choose a charity from our list of over 150 wonderful charity partners.
Is there a minimum fundraising commitment?
No – but we do want you to raise as much money for charity as possible and, during registration, you will be asked to set a fund-raising target. If you are registering a school or youth group we recommend £2-5 per pupil.
Why not have some fun with the numbers 2,0,1 and 2 and set targets using those numbers? For example, what about everybody in the team personally raising £20.12 throughout the challenge? Or a team target of £2012!
How much will it cost me?
Registration is free. If you are taking part in the Olympic Sport Challenge you may be asked to pay for lessons at your local sports facility if you choose to learn a sport as part of your challenge.
Where can I do my challenge?
The great thing is that all the challenges can be done anywhere at any time! If you choose to do the Olympic Sport Challenge, then please use the Sports Finder to find local clubs, courses or events to do your chosen sport. If you are having any trouble doing any sports – or any aspect of your challenge – then please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call us on 020 7099 8895.
When should I do my challenge?
The great thing is that you can complete the challenge at any time until the end of 2012.
How do I register?

Do I need parental consent?
If you are aged between 4-15 then you may need parental consent. During registration you will be asked for the contact details of your parent (or legal guardian) and we will contact them separately to obtain their consent. If you are registering a school or youth group you will need to ensure that your policies are adhered to when registering.
